Lets get down to business. If you want to win your fantasy football draft its a few things to consider.
#1- What order of positions should you draft.
Do you go RB,RB,WR,QB
RB,QB,WR,RB
QB,RB,WR,RB
Well that all depends on how the draft goes. If all the elite RBs are off the board than you may want to go with a top of the line QB. Its better to have the absolute best QB as opposed to the 7th or 8th best RB for instance. Depending on how the scoring system works in your league you may place a higher value on WRs for PPR (points per reception) leagues.
#2- What players should you target and which players should you avoid. Here’s a little criteria I use to determine if I should target or avoid a certain player. Read the story »

Carolina Panther running back Jonathan Stewart made his first full appearance of the preseason on Saturday night against the Washington Redskins. Stewart has been resting for the majority of preseason as other rookie running backs have been climbing up fantasy rankings. In a few of my earlier posts I’ve been taughting Stewart as the rookie of the year and the key to the Panthers success this season. The rookie from Oregon did not disappoint as he rushed for 100 yards and a TD on 10 carries. One of those carries happened to be a 50 yard score.
The Panthers were clicking on all cylinders, their defense, special teams, and offense were all on point against the Skins. Their defense recorded several early sacks and fumble recoveries to set the tone of the game as the Panthers dominated the Redskins 47-3. Read the story »

Just finished drafting for my annual fantasy ($$) league in what was a competitive draft. I had a lot of confidence going into the draft and ended up with the 7th pick, not bad. Even though I prefer to draft closer to the end positions with back to back picks. It was a 12 team league and my roster is as follows:
Starters:
QB- Donovan McNabb
RB- Marion Barber
RB- Jonathan Stewart
WR- Braylon Edwards
WR- Steve Smith (Panthers)
Flex- Calvin Johnson
TE- Todd Heap (picked up from free agent list 8/24/08)
K- Kris Brown (Hou)
D- Green Bay Read the story »

Rams star RB is set to return to camp after an extended hold-out.
According to several reports the Rams stud RB plans to end his hold-out and return to camp within the next 24-48 hours. Entering the final year of his 5 year contract, Steven Jackson is seeking more compensation for his efforts on the field.
The main question is how quickly will he be able get back into top form and perform at his optimum level. Very few running backs have been able to return from an offseason hold-out and excel right off the bat. Only the likes of Marshall Faulk and Emmitt Smith have been able to return from extended hold-outs to excel on the field in the same season. Many hold-outs tend to get injured due to lack of conditioning. It will be interesting to see how fast he can get into top form.

The Bengals have decided to give wide receiver Chris Henry another chance.
Despite Henry’s constant off-the-field issues and five arrests since 2005, the Cincinnati Bengals are desperately in need of a veteran wide receiver. The Bengals top two wide outs Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh are currently sidelined with injuries and the Bengals cannot afford another lackluster season.
Henry’s agent stated that both sides were in talks and real close to coming to an agreement. Henry and his agent are hoping that the fans of Cincinnati will give him another chance as well. Even with Chris back with the team he will still have to serve a four game suspension handed to him by the NFL for violating their personal conduct policy. Read the story »

Any questions about how well Favre would pick up the Jets offense were put to rest on Saturday night when Favre and the Jets faced the Redskins. Favre went 5 of 6 for 48 yards and threw a touchdown pass to rookie Dustin Keller. On his first series as a Jet, Favre took the field showered by a stadium of cheers. He completed his first pass from scrimmage and didn’t look back. Despite having a fatigued arm from a long week of practice, Favre still seemed to be on top of his game.
Favre’s TD pass gave the New York Jets a 7-0 lead to cap off his second series of the game. After the score Brett celebrated with his teammates in typical Brett Favre fashion. Coach Mangini, obviously satisfied with Favre’s performace, replaced him with back-up QB Kellen Clemens.
Even though Favre only threw six passes, they were on target and crisp; vintage Favre. Later in the game the future Hall of Famer was seen chatting with teammates and newly aquired DT Kris Jenkins on the sidelines. It appears that the team is warming up to Favre and are comfortable with him leading the way. He had an encouraging debut and the Jets faithful were surely pleased by what they saw from the living legend.
